Spring is Lethargic, so I listen to Podcasts

Good Night At 2pm

I am not going to lie... I have been feeling quite lethargic lately. I keep having meditation sessions that suspiciously evolve into napping sessions.

Spring is a wonderful time to sleep (which apparently it is caused by the release of melatonin accumulated during the winter: with more daylight now we do not need it anymore...), so, to keep awake, I listen to podcast whilst refurbishing old furniture (yes, you read that right!) and hiking around.

Here is a list of my latest favorites - I hope you will enjoy them too!

1. History of Rome

One of the earliest successful history podcast ever narrated by Mike Duncan, covering the history of Rome from its founding to its fall in the V century. Commodus (from Gladiator's fame) was absolutely out of his mind, and guess what... Marcus Aurelius was his father! The apple could have not fallen farther from the tree.

2. Bloodtrails

Do I like the outdoors? Check

Do I like true crime? Check

Do I like noir atmosphere? Say no more!

From the MeatEater podcasts, here is an angaging and dark collection of true crime murders and disappearances in the woods of North America. Wild stuff (Pun intended!). Not for vegetarians, or for people against hunting.

3. Kill Tony

With their NetFlix deal now they have been thrown into the mainstream of comedy, but I am happy to say that I was a fan far before the live show hosted by Tony Hinchcliffe started to have millions of viewers and listeners every week.

Because comedy has to be unhinged, free from judgement - and, most importantly, open to anyone who wants to try.
